A listed farm dating from 1300. Beautifully situated in nature between Bruges and the coast, and inhabited by our family since 1977. We are proud and pleased to receive you in this unique monument in Zuienkerke. What once started with arable farming, animal husbandry and a small-scale horse pension, has grown into a charming experience farm where horse and nature are central.
“Our grandparents then had farm horses, the so-called Belgian Draft Horse. They won national prize camps with it. The microbe stuck, because at the end of the 20st century my father bought his first horse: a Belgian Warmblood. Not long after, we were asked to stable horses. And so horse boarding house or Stal De Hemel was born.”Dries Claeys
The horse pension has expanded considerably over the years, with all-in accommodation for long or short stays. And it doesn’t stop here. Because while Dries mainly takes care of the horses, Pieter is occupied with the next phase: the renovation and start-up of a farm hotel or B&B.
